This 80-year-old residence was once the home of Watanabe-san, a respected local farmer and community leader in Kamiyamaguchi. The property’s past includes a World War II air-raid shelter hidden within its gardens, adding a unique layer to its heritage and historical value.
Though Watanabe-san has moved on, the house’s legacy endures as the cherished headquarters of the Bamboo Craft Group, co-founded by Watanabe-san and his partner Katayama-san. For over three decades, this dedicated group has not only created exquisite bamboo artworks but also lovingly maintained the surrounding bamboo forest.
Surrounded by a peaceful bamboo grove, this secluded retreat provides complete privacy from the town and main roads. Here, time seems to stand still, inviting you into a private sanctuary where nature, history, and artistry blend seamlessly.
