On April 16, 2025, Planet Labs CEO Tamaki Nishimura attended the Liberal Democratic Party’s Sharing Economy Promotion Caucus General Assembly and introduced our initiative under the theme of “Co-ownership of Cultural Assets.”
(For more information about the General Assembly, please refer to this page in Japanese.)
The LDP’s Sharing Economy Promotion Caucus is an organization dedicated to improving legal frameworks and advancing policies related to the sharing economy. There is growing interest in private-sector case studies that contribute to the effective use of local resources and the creation of a sustainable society.
During the event, we presented the mechanism of “PlanetDAO,” which enables multiple individuals to co-own and utilize culturally and historically significant properties. The initiative attracted strong attention from many attendees, including Mr. Hirai Takuya, a founding member of the caucus.
Planet Labs will continue driving the social implementation of co-ownership of cultural properties and contribute to the sustainable preservation of regional cultural heritage.
